Attending the DFW Adventure Boot Camp has not only helped me lose weight, which was my initial goal, but, I have gained so much more. I have increased my level of strengh, I have better balance, flexibility, and increased endurance. The group atmosphere is so much fun, supportive and inspiring. More so, I think, than training one-on-one with a personal trainer. Part of my testimony is the fact that I've always exercised, but never ran. Because of Anna's encouragement and the other women, I am a runner (sometimes a walker). I have enjoyed the challenge so much that I have actually participated in three 5 K's. In addition to all that I have toned and lost inches where others notice!
Anna is both professional and personable. She has the ability to provide individual attention and still motivate and encourage an entire group of women, we leave each morning, knowing how much she believes in us, and cares about us! I was very skeptical and felt intimidated. I thought there is no way I can get up that early, let alone exercise. Anna continued to encourage me to " just try it". After getting up, and making it through the 5:30 a.m. class, I had such a feeling of accomplishment and felt more excited to face the day. I have now participated in three camps and it is the only thing that I have committed to and stuck with. It definitely helped to have Anna encouraging me and believing in me, until I could beleive in myself. Each class the exercises were different and while not always fun, it kept it interesting! The first week when we did our timed 1 mile walk/ run, I could barely finish it-by the end of four weeks, I ran the entire mile!! I felt so much better and had more energy, I knew it was making a positive difference in my life.

I arrived at boot camp overweight and out of shape - a true couch potato who loved food and hated exercise. But, I knew it was time for a change. What I was really looking for was something to jump start me into better fitness and eating habits. What could be better than four weeks of intense fitness training with other women under the guidance of an experienced trainer? And the classes were great! The variety of activities and pace of the class made the hour fly by each day. Don't get me wrong, it was a lot of hard work. It didn't matter that I was the slowest or the weakest. What matters is that I worked at and improved at everything. And the results are impressive. During the four weeks, I lost eight pounds. I lost two inches each around my chest, waist, and hips. I also lost over one inch on each arm and leg. I improved my one mile run time by 10%. Plus, I have more energy than ever. Best of all, it has given me just the boost I was looking to attain. I'm now eating better, sleeping better, and exercising regularly. I have the hope and belief that I can continue my new fitness habits and my journey to a leaner and healthier me. And I'm looking forward to returning to future boot camps to challenge myself again.
